ESKISEHIR - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was given the "World Peace Promoter Special Award" on Sunday.
Speaking at the White Gold Turkey Entrepreneurship Awards ceremony, Erdogan said, "success can be achieved as long as democracy progresses in parallel with economy. If concessions start to be made in democracies, this means economic collapse will start. If you make concessions from economic principles, you will have the same problem in democracy."
Erdogan said Turkey was not affected by the impacts of mortgage crisis, noting that, "Turkey progresses on its way in confidence and stability."
Erdogan said Turkey was proud of its entrepreneurs, noting that young and dynamic population was the biggest richness of Turkey.
Stating that Turkey did not have very big oil and gold reserves like some other countries, Erdogan said, "Turkey has to develop with investment, production, exports and employment."
