MALATYA - Turkish State Minister for economy Mehmet Simsek said he was the best the example for equality of opportunity in Turkey.
"I am the youngest of a family with 9 children from Batman (a southeastern province). In this respect, I am the best example for equality of opportunity in Turkey," Simsek told a local TV in eastern province of Malatya on Sunday.
He also said that Turkey achieved a lot over the past five years in economy.
"Turkey's national income per capita has tripled, fundamental rights and freedoms have become stronger," he said. "Achievements over the past five years have been a historical progress that had not been seen in all history of republic."
However, Simsek said Turkey has not overcome its all problems and gave the unemployment problem as an example.
"Recently, there is an uncertainty and its reflections in Turkey. I hope it will be over in the near future and Turkey will continue booming. Turkey can never accept anything that would setback its upward trend achieved recently," he said.
