Gul: Turkey Has Action Plan To Help Palestinians

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said that Turkey has prepared an action plan to contribute to efforts to ease problems of Palestinian people.
Releasing a statement on the aid Gul said that the Turkish government would extend its helping hand to the Palestinian government and people.
Within the framework of the plan, the Turkish government will send foodstuffs, medicine and medical equipment worth of 1 million U.S. dollars and donate three ambulances to the Palestinian government and people, Gul said.
The humanitarian aid will be sent to Palestine in convoys via Syria and Jordan and they will be handed over to Palestinian authorities, Gul added. He noted that nearly 100 tons of the food are planned to be distributed to Palestinian families by the Turkish aid organization Kizilay (Red Crescent) in packages.
The first convoy will depart from Turkey this week.
