ANKARA - Turkey`s existing installed capacity in electricity reached 40,777 MW as of the end of 2007.
Nearly 66.9 percent of the installed capacity belongs to hydroelectric or natural gas power plants, a report by Turkey`s Energy Market Regulatory Authority said on Sunday.
According to the report, the installed capacity of the hydroelectric power plants in Turkey is around 14,394 MW.
Natural gas power plants contribute to the generation of electricity with an installed capacity of 12,879 MW, the report added.
