ANKARA - Police arrested four men and detained four women under charges of white-slave trade in Ankara and Afyon.
Releasing a statement on Tuesday, the Ankara Police Department said that acting on a tip-off, police raided a house in Seyranbaglari neighborhood in Ankara, capturing one Turkish man who was being wanted for white-slave trade and one foreign woman and a Turkish-origin woman carrying Moldavian passport.
During his interrogation, Turkish man Recep C. named another Turk in western province of Afyon and said he had ''purchased'' those two women from that man for two thousand U.S. dollars. Three undercover police officers brought him to Afyon to meet the other Turkish man, Samil D.
Police officers detained Samil D. and his collaborators Murat O. and Hakan K. and two other Moldovan women in the operation in Afyon.
