ISTANBUL - Turkish parliament speaker attended the inauguration of an international meeting gathering 350 young people from 115 countries in Istanbul on Saturday.
Speaking at the inauguration of a conference titled "Young United Nations", Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan pointed to the current problems in the world.
"If important steps are not taken immediately, our world will have to face great threats in the near future," Toptan said, commenting on the natural disasters that the world has been fighting with currently.
He also said that young people from around the world, who attended the meeting in Istanbul, showed that it was possible to achieve peace and find solutions to problems through dialogue.
