Turkey Raises $829 Million Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 208,532 tons of hazelnuts and earned 829,599,371 U.S. dollars in the 47th week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data released by Black Sea Hazelnut & Products Exporters' Association, Turkey actually exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 163,311 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU), 25,307 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 12,734 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 7,180 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 246,915 tons of hazelnuts and gained an income of 568,815,255 U.S. dollars.
