ISTANBUL - Turkish transportation minister called for "the removal of barriers before international transportation and trade" to link Europe and Asia and to create a new economic momentum between the two continents.
"It is an urgent requirement to remove completely the barriers on transportation, which is a locomotive for boosting trade, in order to connect Europe and Asia," Binali Yildirim told Friday the closing session of an international conference on transportation.
Participants from nearly 30 countries, including ministers and their deputies gathered at the 31st World Congress of the International Road Transport Union in Istanbul, sought ways to boost regional and global cooperation in transportation issue and to revive the historical Silk Road.
