DIYARBAKIR - Commerce and industry chambers of Turkish province of Diyarbakir, and Iraqi provinces of Irbil and Dohuk signed a protocol on Friday to boost industrial and trade relations.
Turkish and Iraqi chambers aim to solve problems that Turkish businessmen face in the north of Iraq, said Mehmet Kaya, chairman of Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
"Iraq is a major market for Turkey and we can not take advantage of this market very well," Kaya told the signing ceremony in Diyarbakir.
"We are aiming to take part mainly in construction, marble and food markets in Iraq. The protocol will also contribute to rebuilding of Iraq," Kaya said.
