LAGOS, July 26 (AFP) - A helicopter chartered by American oil firm ChevronTexaco went missing on Monday with four people on board, including its American pilot, the company said.
The helicopter, on a medical mission from one of its deep water locations "is missing. Contact with the helicopter was lost at 2.30 am (0130 GMT) today, five minutes after it took off from a drilling rig," said a statement signed by company spokesman Sola Omole.
Company officials said they suspect that the plane crashed en route to the southern oil city of Port Harcourt.
