AMMAN, July 26 (AFP) - The brother of a Jordanian lawmaker has been killed in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, the foreign ministry said Monday.
"Marwan Zuheir al-Rusan, brother of Jordanian MP Nariman al-Rusan, was killed yesterday, Sunday, in Mosul in Iraq," spokesman Ali Ayed told AFP.
The government was informed of the man's death by his sister. There was no immediate information on how he was killed.
Marwan al-Rusan, 45, who owned several shops in Iraq, had received several warnings to leave the country, according to relatives.
"He was preparing to wind down his business and return to Jordan," one relative told AFP, asking not to be named.
The body will be returned to Jordan later Monday.
Also on Monday, two Jordanian drivers working for a firm that supplies the US army were kidnapped in Iraq, according to fellow employees of the Jordanian company Daoud and Partners.
