STAR - The crypto is a French word, consisting of a few meanings, and I prefer the term 'concealed words' for this. From now on, you can understand this as ciphers of Britain's Queen Elizabeth. When we went to London as the guest of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his working visit in October 2007, I wrote one day after the signature of 'Turkish-British Strategic Partnership Document' that we were at the house of British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs David Miliband, who was very reassuring and supportive for Turkey.
In Europe, maybe only Britain has the role that Turkey can play between different cultures and geographies. Britain considers Turkey through a longer-term and global vision. The visit paid by Britain's Queen Elizabeth should be evaluated separately from Britain's global vision and the role it can play between different cultures and geographies. Symbols of her visit showed this clearly once more. In other words, she went to the Mausoleum of Ataturk, who had very close relations with Britain, visited Bursa due to her affection for the silk, listened to the Koran's Rahman sura from theology Professor Mehmet Emin Ay and gave a reception on a British aircraft, which show that she wants to show Britain's own stance and emphasizes old and new values in Turkey.
Britain believes that Turkey can ensure a harmony between moderate Islam and democracy and economic growth. As The Times daily indicated, the Ottoman Empire directed the Islamic geography. Today, Britain also believes that incidents in Turkey are still important for those beyond these borders. Actually, Turkey plays a key role for the protection of peace and stability in the region. That's why Britain has been protecting Turkey's European Union bid. The Anglo-Saxon world wants to show Turkey as an example that a Muslim country can also be democrat, modern and rich. If the visit paid by her is deciphered, this can be seen once again.
Miliband's statements that the government is elected not by the the judicial branch, but by the nation, should be perceived as part of this vision of Britain. So Britain is afraid on behalf of the region and the world that if the Justice and Development Party (AKP) is closed, Turkish-EU relations would come to a dead end. Similarly, Miliband said that Britain and the EU and Turkey came closer to each other due to the elected government and hoped that this situation would continue.
Not only certain European politicians, but also Ankara is unable understand the role attributed by Britain to Turkey. We need to read and comprehend the crypto sent by Queen Elizabeth with all her aristocratic delicacy. Is this so hard to protect our old and new values and go on our way with full determination?
