Kaplan Not To Be Deported Until October 27

BERLIN - Metin Kaplan, leader of an Islamic group banned by Germany, won't be deported until October 27, 2004.
The Cologne Department for Refugees announced on Monday that the Cologne administrative court, which ruled out not to deport Kaplan until July 27, 2004, decided not to pronounce a new verdict, so Kaplan was granted right to stay in Cologne until October 27. After the Munster High Administrative Court said that Kaplan can be expelled, the Cologne Administrative Court decided that he should not be deported until July 27, offering him an opportunity to appeal.
Kaplan, the leader of Union of Islamic Communities and Societies (ICCB), applied to Cologne Department for Refugees on July 23 to prevent his deportation.
Metin Kaplan, son of Cemalettin Kaplan, known as ''Black voice'' in Turkey, had been sentenced to four years in prison in Germany on charges of inciting killing of his rival Ibrahim Sofu.
