Unemployment In Turkey Stands At 11.6 Percent In Q1 Of 2008

ANKARA - Unemployment rate in Turkey mounted to 11.6 percent in the first three months of 2008, 0.2 points higher over the same period last year, a household survey of country`s statistics authority said Thursday.
The period saw a 45.9-percent labor force participation, 0.4 points lower than the same period of the previous year.
The survey put unemployment rate in urban areas at 13.4 percent and 8.5 percent in rural areas.
