Turkish State Minister Opens Turkish - African Trade Fair In Istanbul

ISTANBUL - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen inaugurated on Wednesday a Turkish-African trade fair in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
The fair was organized by the Confederation of Businessmen & Industrialists of Turkey within the scope of Third Summit of Turkey-Africa Foreign Trade Bridge.
"Turkish and African businessmen are meeting here to improve their trade," Tuzmen told during the inauguration ceremony.
Around 3,500 businessmen, including 1,080 foreigners, are participating in the fair. Turkey and Africa are expected to have a trade volume of 3 billion USD thanks to the fair and bilateral talks.
The Third Summit of Turkey-Africa Foreign Trade Bridge was held in Istanbul on Tuesday. Tuzmen, who participated in the meeting, said Turkey aimed to increase trade volume with African countries to 50 billion USD by the end of 2012.
Trade volume between Turkey and African countries amounted to 5.4 billion USD in 2003 and the figure became nearly 13 billion USD at the end of 2007.
