Turkey Reclaims Stolen Statue's Head From Germany

ANKARA - Turkey has retrieved from Germany the head of a second-century Roman statue after seven years of an international hunt.
The statue`s head, which had been hacked-off in 2001 from a Turkish museum, was discovered by the Interpol in Munich in 2004. German authorities agreed to hand over the relic without waiting for an appeal for legal action from Turkey.
Turkey`s consul general in Munich recovered the statue`s head last April and it was recently reclaimed by the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
