LARNACA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer said Tuesday that he was hopeful about the works of technical committees that began after March 21st when Turkish and Greek Cypriot leaders agreed to resume reunification talks in the island.
At a banquet hosted by Greek Cypriot businessman Constantinos Lordos in honor of him in Larnaca, Soyer said he strongly desired resumption of talks between Mehmet Ali Talat and Demetris Christofias in June.
He said peace and settlement in Cyprus should be common values in the island.
"No matter which language they speak, either Turkish or Greek, peoples in Cyprus should march for solution and future," he told the banquet which was attended by politicians and businesspeople from two parts of the island.
Soyer said Cyprus was the "common country" for Turkish and Greek Cypriot peoples and reiterated a solution based on UN parameters.
