Turkish Day Parade To Take Place In NYC On May 24th

NEW YORK - The 27th Annual Turkish Day Parade organized by the Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA) will take place in New York City on May 24th.
FTAA Chairman Kaya Boztepe called on Turkish people living in New York to participate in the Turkish Day Parade and Festival.
Several Turkish singers and dance groups would perform in the festival, Boztepe said.
"We, as the Turkish community in the United States, should show our power to Americans," he said.
Boztepe said State Minister Mustafa Said Yazicioglu, the ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party deputy chairman Egemen Bagis and several AK Party deputies would participate in the parade and the festival.
Ali Cinar, adviser of Boztepe, said a Turkish festival would take place at New York`s Grand Central Terminal --the biggest train station in the world-- for the first time on November 3rd and 6th, 2008.
FTAA, a non-profit organization, was established in 1956 for the purpose of uniting and supporting the Turkish community within the United States.
