ISTANBUL - Turkey`s Is Bankasi announced on Tuesday that its net profit for the first quarter of 2008 increased to 555 million YTL (nearly 442.5 million USD), a 51 percent rise over the same period of last year.
Turkey`s largest financial company said in a statement that its assets reached 84 billion YTL in March, adding that loans granted by the bank grew 14 percent in Q1 to reach 38.9 billion YTL.
It also said that total deposits of the bank rose 6 percent when compared to end-2007 and that 35 percent of net profit at the end of last year were paid to shareholders.
"Is Bankasi aims to consolidate its stable growth," the bank said.
