Daiichi Sankyo Of Japan To Open Office In Turkey

ISTANBUL - Japanese pharma innovator, Daiichi Sankyo, will open an office in Turkey.
Daiichi Sankyo said in a statement on Tuesday that it established Turkish subsidiary DAIICHI SANKYO Ilac, Ticaret Ltd. in Istanbul, and the business of the company would initially focus on sales of Evista, the medication for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
The office in Istanbul will play part in the Daiichi Sankyo group`s European business operations under the supervision of its office in Munich, Germany which is the headquarters for 11 European markets.
The firm said that it planned a considerable growth in middle-term in the area of cardiology.
The firm was created in 2005 upon a merge between traditional Japanese companies of Daiichi and Sankyo. Tokyo-centered firm`s annual sales amounted to 5.5 billion euro in 2007.
