LEFKOSA - Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said Monday "the OIC is against unfair behaviors that the Turkish Cypriots and their government face".
Yakin Dogu University (YDU) of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) decorated Ihsanoglu on Monday with an honorary doctorate degree in international relations for his contributions to peace in the Islamic world and the whole globe in general.
Receiving his honorary doctorate degree, Ihsanoglu said that he received many honorary doctorate degrees from various universities worldwide in the past.
"However", said Ihsanoglu, "this one is special as it comes from an university (YDU) that was established under extremely difficult circumstances and that continues succesful existence under unfair conditions".
