Turkish, South African Businessmen Discuss Cooperation Opportunities

ISTANBUL - Turkish and South African businessmen met in Istanbul on Monday to discuss cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
South African Trade & Industry Minister Mandisi Mpahlwa told the Turkish-South African Business Council meeting that the two countries could access world markets together.
Mpahlwa said that his country offers outstanding opportunities in several sectors such as infrastructure, industry and services.
He said South African economy had difficulties in the past but recovered over the past four years, adding that Turkish and South African businessmen should come together to collaborate, improve trade and open up to third countries.
Tamer Askin, chairman of the council said that trade volume between the two countries was around 2.7 billion USD in 2007. He said South Africa was a dynamic market with nearly 45 million population and it could be the gate for Turkish businessmen to central African countries.
