Train Crashes Into Minibus In Aydin, Killing 15

AYDIN - A passenger train crashed into a minibus in a grade crossing in Aegean Aydin province on Sunday, killing 15, sources said.
Sources said that the train en route from Aegean Izmir to Denizli province hit into a minibus which was passing from one side of the road to the other side through a grade crossing, killing 15 and injuring 4 people on the minibus.
The injured were hospitalized in Aydin.
Aydin Deputy Governor Omer Eru who visited the hospitals where the injured were taken under treatment, said that the driver of the minibus was responsible for the accident.
Eru said, ``there is a grade crossing on the railway. The driver of the minibus tried to cross to the other side although the barriers were closed. Therefore, the accident happened due to driver`s fault.``
The Directorate General of Turkish State Railways (TCDD) said in a statement that ``the train crashed into the minibus that broke the barrier which was about to close.``
