BURSA - Turkey`s President Abdullah Gul said Saturday that 750 reporters got accreditation to cover the visit of Queen Elizabeth II of United Kingdom and consort Prince Philip, to Turkey.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to the northwestern city of Bursa, Gul said that Queen Elizabeth`s visits had always contributed to the promotion of the places she visited.
"I believe, with this opportunity, Bursa will be promoted in the best way possible. According to figures provided to me couple of days ago, 750 reporters got accreditation to follow the Queen`s visit," said Gul.
Queen Elizabeth`s visit will begin on Tuesday.
She will visit the cities of Ankara, Bursa and Istanbul upon the invitation of Turkish President Gul.
The last time the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Turkey was in October 1971.
