Two Turkish Athletes Named Among Candidates For European Athlete Of Month

ANKARA - Two Turkish athletes have been nominated for the European Athlete of the Month Award for April, European Athletics Association said on Sunday.
Elvan Abeylegesse and Selim Bayrak were leading the poll with 47.8 percent and 41.8 percent respectively among 21 athletes from 14 countries.
Abeylegesse defended her European Cup 10,000m title in front of home crowd with 31:36.33.
Bayrak set new Turkish record and European leading time to win European Cup 10,000m in Istanbul in 27:47.75.
