PAMUKOVA - Fikret Karabulut and Recep Sonmez, the drivers of the train which derailed in Pamukova town of northwestern province of Sakarya on Thursday claiming 37 lives, and conductor Koksay Coskun were arrested by the court on duty on Saturday.
Sources told the A.A correspondent that Karabulut, Sonmez and Coskun were arrested and sent to prison.
Meanwhile, lawyer Ismail Gurses said that that Turkish State Railways (TCDD) instructed the train drivers to increase the speed limit to 130 km/h in the region where the crash occurred.
A total 37 people were killed and 81 others were injured when a high-speed train derailed near Pamukova town of northwestern province of Sakarya on Thursday night. The train, traveling from Istanbul to Ankara, was carrying nine crew members and 234 passengers.
