Senior Turkish Official Says Turkish And Arab States Should Form A Common Economic Area

ANKARA - A senior Turkish official said Friday that Turkish and Arabic speaking countries should unite their forces, and form a common economic area.
Speaking at a conference organised by the Businessmen Association of Turkic and Arabic States in Ankara, Turkish Minister Kursad Tuzmen said while certain Turkic and Arabic states were oil and natural gas rich, others had a big population of qualified work force.
Tuzmen said Turkic and Arabic countries could turn the global financial crisis and soaring food prices into an opportunity and take a greater share from the global trade.
