Tug-boats Set Afloat Panamanian-flagged Cargo Vessel

CANAKKALE - The Panamanian-flagged cargo ship that ran aground in the Canakkale Strait on Tuesday was set afloat by tugboats, Turkish Coast Guard and Vessel Rescue Administration said on Friday.
Officials from the Administration told A.A correspondent that the crew of the 41,940 gross-ton cargo ship ''Jovzal Duckling'' asked for assistance from Turkish authorities.
The Panamanian-flagged ship was pulled by tug-boats, and then anchored at Karanlik port.
Officials said that the cargo ship would set sail once bureaucratic procedures were completed.
The cargo ship was carrying iron ore from Singapore to Bulgaria's Burgas port. It ran aground off Alcitepe shortly after it entered the Canakkale Strait on Tuesday.
