Search And Rescue Efforts End After Train Crash In Sakarya

PAMUKOVA - Search and rescue efforts, launched after a high-speed train derailed in Pamukova town of northwestern Sakarya province, en route from Istanbul to Ankara overnight, ended on Friday.
Rescue workers cleared away debris and did not find any other person left under the debris.
Around 300 railway workers repaired the rail lines in six hours.
On the other hand, gendarmery banned people from approaching the train cars in order to protect valuable belongings of the victims and the survivors.
The train derailed near Pamukova town around 7.45 p.m. The train left Istanbul at 6.0 p.m. with more than 200 passengers.
Turkish Prime Ministry Crisis Management Bureau said earlier on Friday that 36 people died and 81 others were injured in the crash .
