German Chancellor Schroeder And Foreign Minister Fischer Send Messages Of Condolences

BERLIN - German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer sent messages of condolence on Friday following overnight's train derailment in northwestern Turkey.
In his message to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, German Chancellor Schroeder expressed his profound sorrow over loss of lives in the train derailment.
Meanwhile, Fischer send a message to Turkish Prime Minister Abdullah Gul saying that he commiserated with Turkish people and those who lost their relatives in the train derailment.
A total 36 people were killed and 81 others were injured when a high-speed train derailed near Pamukova town of northwestern province of Sakarya. The train, traveling from Istanbul to Ankara, was carrying nine crew members and 234 passengers. The cause of the derailment has still been unknown.
