TCDD DIRECTOR GENERAL SAYS NO SABOTAGE, BUT THEY ARE INVESTIGATING ALL POSSIBILITIES
PAMUKOVA - Turkish State Railways (TCDD) Suleyman Karaman, who is currently in Pamukova town of northwestern Sakarya province where a high-speed train accident occurred, said on Friday that there was no sabotage, but they were investigating all possible causes for the accident.
Replying to questions of A.A correspondent, Karaman said, ''technical teams are working in the area where the accident happened. However, I would like to say that all trains travel there at the same speed, since this region is full of turns.''
Karaman noted that civilians, soldiers and other officials were working in the region.
Stating that they did not receive any information whether personnel of train died, Karaman said that workers were clearing the wreckage. He added that the railway could be re-opened to traffic in the afternoon.
