ANKARA, July 22 (AFP) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Thursday he had cancelled a trip to Bosnia-Hercegovina, scheduled for Friday, following a deadly train accident in his country.
Erdogan told reporters he would immediately head to the northwestern province of Sakarya, where a train, en route from Istanbul to Ankara with some 240 people aboard, derailed.
Up to 100 people were feared dead in the accident, local officials said.
Erdogan was to head to Mostar in southern Bosnia on Friday to attend the reopening of the town`s historic bridge destroyed during the 1992-95 war in the region.
