ANKARA, July 22 (AFP) - At least 30 people were killed and many more injured Thursday in northwestern Turkey when a train derailed, a hospital doctor near the accident site said.
"Paramilitary troops told me that there were 30 dead people at the accident site" near the town of Pamukova in Sakarya province, Suat Cimen, the director of the Pamukova state hospital told the NTV news channel.
He said there more than 30 people were injured in the accident.
Turkish officials say four carriages of the train, which was on its way from Istanbul to capital Ankara, overturned due to a yet unknown reason.
