BRUSSELS, July 22 (AFP) - NATO will likely soon respond favorably to a Greek request to ensure security at next month's Olympic Games, to guard against a possible terrorist threat, a spokeswoman for the alliance said Thursday.
"We can confirm that there has been a second Greek request relating to counter terrorism aspects of security assistance to the Olympic Games," she said.
"We expect that the NAC (North Atlantic Council, or NATO ambassadors) will agree to support the Greek authorities in the coming days in this area."
But she refused to give any details on what kind of request the hosts of the Olympics, which begin on August 13, made.
