Foreign Minister Babacan Due To Britain

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan will leave for Britain on Thursday to attend a meeting of Ad Hoc Liaison Committee For Assistance to the Palestinians (AHLC).
Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that Turkey was invited to AHLC meeting for the first time by considering its active policy in Middle East, its importance and influence in the region especially in recent period, good relations with Palestine, Israel and all regional countries, and the high amount of humanitarian and technical assistance it granted to Palestinians.
AHLC was founded on October 1st, 1993 to provide aid and economic support to people of Palestine. Actual members of the committee are Norway, EU Commission, the U.S., Canada, Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and World Bank. Partner members of the committee are Palestinian national administration, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and UN.
