Number Of Tourists Coming To Antalya Via Air Up By 17 Percent

ANTALYA - The number of tourists arriving in southern resort province of Antalya via air carriers was up by 17 percent in April.
According to data by Culture and Tourism Directorate of Antalya, 505,650 tourists visited this city in April. Thus the number of tourists arriving in Antalya via air carriers in 2008 reached 1,129,947. Officials said this marked a 17 percent rise in the number of tourist arrivals compared to 2007.
Representatives of tourism sector said they expected 2008 to be the best year for Turkish tourism sector with a further rise in arrival rates beginning in mid May.
