ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan hosted a dinner in honor of Lithuania`s Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas in Ankara on Wednesday.
Speaking at the dinner, Erdogan said the relationship between Turkey and Lithuania should be boosted.
"Our countries share common values and similar strategic interests. Turkey fully supported Lithuania`s NATO and EU memberships. The two countries should work to boost economic relations," he said.
Kirkilas said Lithuania backed enlargement of the EU and supported Turkey in this respect.
Regional cooperation was of great importance in regard to big projects in the areas of energy, transportation, science and technology, Kirkilas said.
