Representatives of news agencies from Turkic-speaking countries gathered in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Wednesday for a general assembly of their regional association.
Among the proposals raised at the meeting, Oleg Ryabov, deputy director of Kyrgyzstan's Kabar News Agency, called for the creation of an international Turkic media union, suggesting its website could function as a shared news platform.
Delegates also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation among member agencies and to expand the sharing of news and information across the group.
The three-day session, held at Baku's Park Inn Hotel, will conclude with Türkiye's Anadolu Agency transferring the association's presidency to Azerbaijan's state news agency, Azertac.
