ISTANBUL - Turkish Industry & Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan said on Wednesday that he continued his meetings with car manufacturers of the world.
Speaking at the meeting of Turkish-Qatari Business Council in Istanbul, Caglayan said that trade volume between Turkey and Qatar which was 26 million USD five years ago, rose to 480 million USD today.
Regarding automotive industry, Caglayan said that 15 of each 10,000 vehicles (worldwide) were being manufactured in Turkey. He added that Turkey produced one vehicle in every 24 seconds; and exported a vehicle in every 30 seconds.
Caglayan said that his meetings with car manufacturers were underway, adding that most of them wanted to invest in Turkey.
Caglayan added that Turkish contractors undertook projects worth of more than five billion USD in Qatar in the last five years.
Caglayan also said that Turkey was the 17th biggest economy of the world.
