ISTANBUL - Turkish Industry & Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan said on Wednesday that a 800-million euro automotive investment might take place in Turkey.
Caglayan said the investment would also create job opportunities for 5,000 people but refrained from giving the name of the company.
Addressing Turkey-Bahrain Business Council 3rd Joint Meeting, Caglayan said Turkey was progressing towards becoming the world automotive center.
Caglayan said 15 of every thousand vehicles in the world are produced in Turkey, noting that the Turkish government took many measures in order to enable free market rules prevail and improve investment atmosphere in Turkey.
Commenting on relations between Turkey and Bahrain, Caglayan said despite the boost in the past 5 years, economic relations were not at satisfactory level. "Such kind of visits and meetings will add momentum to relations," he added.
