ANKARA - German Embassy hosted a reception in Ankara in honor of a delegation from German Parliamentary Commission for EU Affairs on Tuesday.
German Ambassador in Ankara Eckart Cuntz hosted the reception.
Gunther Krichbaum, chairman of the commission, told reporters regarding the closure case against Turkey's ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party that all political parties could be able to exist in democracy. He said that political struggle could be pursued in parliament but not in constitutional court.
Krichbaum said that they paid this visit to Ankara to see the efforts and initiatives which were pursued under EU membership negotiations.
He said that they would continue to support Turkey in its EU membership process.
Also Ambassador Cuntz said that the German delegation would meet representatives at Turkish Parliament, EU ambassadors, and representatives of Turkish Secretariat General for EU on Wednesday.
Cuntz said that Germany supported the reform process in Turkey as well as Turkey's EU membership negotiations.
Cuntz also expressed uneasiness over the closure case against AK Party.
He eulogized the developments about Cyprus issue.
Cuntz expressed pleasure about Turkey's constructive efforts in Middle East especially in Syria and Israel issues.
