ANKARA - Turkish military said Tuesday that Turkish warplanes and artillery units destroyed positions of the terrorist organization PKK, including a large number of shelters, caves, anti-aircraft defences, communication posts and storages during its latest operation on Friday and Saturday last week.
The General Staff said that "a large group of PKK terrorists were also neutralized," who were believed to be in preparation to attack targets in Turkey from their bases in Zap, Avasin-Basyan and Hakurk regions in Iraq's north. It gave no figures on the casualties.
The General Staff said "it had taken due diligence not to harm civilian population and local elements," adding that targets were hit with "precision."
The military also released video footages of several terrorists targets hit by missiles.
