ANKARA - 11th International Flying Broom Women's Film Festival will take start on May 8th with the theme "Be Yourself and Create Your Dream".
Films of 88 women directors from 27 countries will be screened during the 8 day event.
Halime Guner, founder of the festival, told a news conference held in Ankara's Sheraton Hotel on the occasion, that Flying Broom decided to present its "Honorary Award" to Turkish actress Nilufer Aydan.
Guner said they bestowed the festival to all women who are after their dreams, and who created what they thought.
Festival Program Coordinator Ruken Ozturk said "When is the Peace" section of the festival was bestowed to Italian artist Pippa Bacca. 7 films will be screened in this section.
12 films from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, France, the Netherlands, Iran, Spain, Israel, Poland, and Turkey, will compete to get International Federation of the Film Critics (FIPRESCI).
The Flying Broom Organization has been masterminding the women's film festival in the country since 1998.
