Pace Committee Calls For Investigation Into "deaths Of Illegal Migrants"

PARIS - Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) Migration Committee on Tuesday called on Turkish authorities to launch an investigation into the deaths of illegal migrants who were reported to have been drowned in Turkey-Iraq border.
The Chair of the PACE Migration Commiteee Corien Jonker (the Netherlands) issued a written statement, saying that the right to life was a sine quo non principle of the European Convention on Human Rights, adding that the states have a duty to protect the right to life of illegal migrants.
