ANKARA - Turkey has sent its letter of intent to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The letter of intent was written after the latest round of review discussions under the Stand-by agreement with the IMF.
Turkey's Treasury said in a statement on Tuesday that the IMF Board was expected to debate and approve the review on May 9th, 2008.
The approval of the review will enable Turkey to draw immediately an amount equivalent to SDR 2.2 billion (about 3.7 billion USD).
