ISTANBUL - Turkey Capital Markets Forum organized by Turkish-British Business Council in association with the Financial Times began in Istanbul on Tuesday.
Speaking at the forum, Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek said the world was hit by three crises simultaneously and such a situation had not been experienced earlier.
"There has been a recession. Increase in prices of goods and food is in question," Simsek said.
Inflation figure became 9.2 percent as of March and the figure would remain high due to procurement shock from abroad, he said.
"We have better expectation about the inflation figure in the medium term. We have always had a firm monetary policy and we will also maintain this policy in the future," Simsek said.
Simsek said Turkey's annual growth rate became nearly 7 percent in the past six years and it was a great performance.
