ANKARA - Turkey's Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay hosted a luncheon in honor of the China National Tourism Organization Chairman Shao Qi Wei and accompanying delegation in Ankara on Monday.
Speaking at the luncheon, Gunay said they expected more Chinese people to visit Turkey for holiday.
Gunay said, "we also expect charter flights to Turkey by China's National Airways especially during the tourist season."
Turkey also had several opportunities in the tourism sector for Chinese businessmen, he said.
Shao said China hosted 54 million tourists and earned an income of 41.9 billion USD in 2007.
Chinese authorities were ready to cooperate with the Turkish officials to increase the number of tourists between the two countries, Shao said and invited Gunay to an international tourism fair which will take place in Shanghai in November 2008.
