Turkish Surgeon's Videoanoscope" Awarded In Japan

IZMIR - Japan awarded Turkish surgeon's "videoanoscope", a modified anoscope to facilitate the purse-string suture for stapled hemorrhoidopexy.
Assistant Professor Ali Dogan Bozdag, a surgeon of Izmir Ataturk Training & Research Hospital, developed the equipment which is an alternative method to conventional surgical procedures for third-degree hemorrhoids.
This device has many advantages such as less pain, fast recovery and return to work earlier than planned.
The surgical operation can be seen and recorded through the monitor.
In an exclusive interview with the A.A. correspondent, Bozdag said his study has arisen great interest abroad, and noted that he applied to get patent rights.
Bozdag said his Surgical Service developed a new poster presentation method "videoposter" to combine the advantages of oral and poster presentations.
Bozdag said "videoanoscope" was accepted to be publicized in "Techniques in Coloproctology", one of the most prestigious science magazines of the world, and noted that it was published in Journal of Surgery.
Bozdag said they were working with an international company for commercial production of "videoanoscope", noting it would be put to sale soon.
