Turkish Cypriot President Expects Cyprus Talks In Late June

ANKARA - President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said Friday that Turkish Cypriot side expects to begin full negotiations with Greek Cypriots in late June.
At his meeting with Chairman of the Union of Turkish Chambers & Commodity Exchanges Rifat Hisarciklioglu in Ankara, Talat said Turkish and Greek Cypriot working groups and technical committees have started talks.
"I hope these efforts will pave the way for a comprehensive solution of Cyprus problem," Talat told reporters.
Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Dimitris Christofias held initial talks in March 21st to re-start peace talks in the island and they agreed to meet again in three months.
Talat said this period will expire on June 21st, adding that Turkish Cypriot side has the will to revive talks in late June.
"And we will prove it," he said.
