BAGHDAD, July 21 (AFP) - The Egyptian embassy in Baghdad confirmed Wednesday that an Egyptian trucker, Mohammed Ali, had been kidnapped in Iraq by a group called the "Black Flags" barely 48 hour after another national was released.
The diplomat had no information, however, on three Indians and two Kenyans who the militant group has also claimed to have abducted and threatened with beheading.
"He is a truck driver and the group that took him is called the Black Flags," the diplomat said on condition of anonymity.
Asked how he learned of the latest kidnapping the diplomat said: "We got it from some of our sources. We learnt this half an hour ago."
The news came just two days after another kidnapped trucker from Egypt, Sayed Mohammed Sayed al-Garbawi, was set free after his employer -- a Saudi company -- agreed to end all its activities in Iraq.
Al-Arabiya satellite television reported earlier Wednesday that the six, including an Egyptian it identified as Mohammed Ali Sanad, had been taken hostage.
A videotape from the group threatened to kill them if the Kuwaiti firm for which they work does not pull out of the country.
The video showed what it said was the Egyptian pleading with his company to leave.
